Transferring your account from MyRepublic to Rocket Mobile

We launched MyRepublic Mobile in August 2022 with the intention to shake up the mobile market. We achieved this by being the first in NZ to launch unlimited mobile at the speed you need plans. This included the hugely popular Starter plan, providing the country’s cheapest unlimited mobile data plan. Since we stopped offering broadband services, it’s time to say goodbye to the MyRepublic brand in NZ and reintroduce ourselves as Rocket Mobile.

If you’re already with us, sweet as. Everything you know and love about MyRepublic, like our awesome, low priced unlimited mobile data plans, will remain the same. All you need to do is follow the simple steps we’ll send to your email inbox to transfer your account over to Rocket Mobile, and you’ll be all set. Our new app will also make it even easier for you to change your details, your plan, add connections, and more, so download it today.

Account Transfer Process

If you’re a current MyRepublic mobile customer, you’ll need to sign up for a Rocket Mobile account. It’s not rocket science, so don’t stress. All you need to do is check your details, put in your credit/debit card info, and you’re good to go. Best of all, we don’t charge any card payment fees. We’ve sent you an email with a unique link so you can transfer over now onto Rocket Mobile.

We’re saying goodbye to the MyRepublic brand, and from the end of December we will only be offering our services as Rocket Mobile. To avoid any disruption, we recommend you create your Rocket Mobile account as soon as you’re prompted to.

Billing & Charges

Some providers have been calling this prepay, but we think that’s confusing because prepay also means the old-school pay-as-you-go plans with no set timeframes or bundled plans with sneaky unexpected surprises like MMS charges and charges for calling voicemail. Our upfront plans remove all this. You pay once a month up front, just like you would for your favourite video and music streaming services. After you’ve paid, that’s it, you’re all set. There are no annoying card fees, sneaky 28 day billing cycles, surprise extra charges for things like MMS, or 12 month contracts locking you in.

Voicemail	Calls to voicemail are FREE	Go for gold. And with unlimited talk and text on our plans, you can carry on connecting without worry.
MMS PXT	Not available	If you are a serial PXTer you are better to send your messages via a messaging app like WhatsApp or Messenger instead.
International calls & texts	$10 for 250 calling minutes and 50 SMS messages to use within 30 days with our International Add-on	You can also use an app like WhatsApp or Messenger to contact friends overseas while connected to WiFi or mobile data. If you're on Pay Monthly, if you call or SMS overseas outside of the International Add-on, you'll be charged per minute or per SMS at rates specific to that location.
Roaming	For just $9 a day you can use your NZ data, minutes and SMS in our Daily Roaming destinations.	Our Daily Roaming Add-on is a pretty choice option. Otherwise you can stay connected via WiFi or a local SIM when you're travelling.
Premium rate numbers	Calls/SMS messages to premium rate numbers (e.g. reply "yes" messages that are subject to additional charges) aren't available on our Pay Upfront plans.	To maintain our everyday low prices and remove bill surprises, our Pay Upfront plans don’t allow premium SMS or calls. That might mean for example that you need to call your dentist to confirm that appointment instead of replying by SMS
