****Due to elevated risk of a roaming partner being sanctioned, while roaming in Venezuela you are only able to make or receive calls and send/receive TXTs. You cannot use data.
Destinations will not have 4G or 5G coverage available everywhere, and require a 4G or 5G capable device.
Our $8/day roaming add-on lets you enjoy all the same inclusions you already have for your plan, in countries where the service is available.
When you land at your destination, if your Rocket Mobile SIM is in your phone, you’ll:
1. Receive an SMS asking if you’d like to enable roaming
2. If you reply YES, you’ll get an SMS confirming the $8 payment/invoice
3. When you next try to use your phone’s mobile data, make a call or send an SMS, you’ll get an SMS confirming your 24 hours of roaming add-on has now begun
You can also activate the roaming add-on in your Rocket Mobile app before you leave NZ. If you do this, as soon as you land, your plan will seamlessly start working right away.
Most major mobile providers in the USA have now retired their 2G and 3G mobile networks. This may impact your connectivity while you roam there.
You will automatically be connected to the network that will provide the best connection experience. You will primarily be connected to T-Mobile USA, but you may be switched to another mobile network to maintain your coverage in some areas.
If you experience any sort of issues with calls or TXTs while roaming in the US, make sure your phone’s OS is up to date.
If you have an older phone that is not VoLTE Roaming capable, you will not be able to make/receive calls or TXTs in areas where there is no T-Mobile 2G coverage. Until you move back into coverage, you will only be able to call or TXT via alternative apps that use data or use Wifi Calling.
